Thanks everyone! I am glad that you enjoyed this one. This is a touchy subject for so many people. People just need to realize that they have more control over their situation than they know. Personal responsibility goes a very long way.

Amen, Brother!

Having just completed FPU and on the way now to total Financial Freedom, I am psyched to be able to say I don't fear a recession because I am prepared!

What saddens me is that so many people believe that the way to prevent a recession is by being "consumers". What isn't understood is that by being "Credit consumers" all we are doing is setting ourselves up for total failure.

Dave Ramsey says in the Financial Peace Revisited, we've gone from being a nation of producers to a nation of consumers. Since the GDP (by the way, that is Gross Domestic Product) is based on so much more, including what the US actually produces and sells to other countries,(Defined it is consumption + gross investment + government spending + (exports − imports), we need to understand that if we have jobs and support our production, we can help avoid a recession just as much, if not more than if we spend money (especially money that we do not actually have!)

Great blog again, Brad!

Peace!

Personally I think we are in a depression. I think the recession started in 2002.

When you learn to spend less than you make, it really doesn't matter WHAT the economy is doing. If you are willing to get a job at Wal-mart (Target, etc) if you are let go to make ends meet, by all means, GOOOOO!

For those of us who are lucky enough to be in jobs we love (my husband is the chief of police and I am in ebay sales) we are TRULY blessed. If we did not have those opportunities, we wouldn't hesistate to get a JOB - ANY JOB - until we could get back to where we love - or find a new love.

We learned a longgggggggggggggggg time ago that no one owes us ANYthing. BUT WE OWE IT TO OURSELVES to be humble enough to do whatever it takes to "LIVE LIKE NO ONE ELSE".

I know I'm preaching to the choir but man did that FEEL GOOD! I love being around people like you. =)
