Hi Kathleen, thanks for stopping by. Yeah I thought about that too, and maybe that is part of it. I guess going from eating out at a sit down restaurant to getting pizza delivery is somewhat cutting back but honestly there is not much difference. If people were coming to pick their pizzas up I would agree completely. I just found it odd that the year my boss reaches his lofty goal, is the same year that the country is economically treading water.

Still though credit card sales are way up. To answer your question about what you should tip on a $30 delivery, I am very happy if someone tips $1 for every $10 on their order which is 10%. I personally tip a little more than that mostly because I work for tips, but I usually start at $5 and go up from there. You would be surprised at how many people actually give NO tip.

Personally I look forward to next year after we will be well into baby step 3. I hope to tip one or more people a $100 bill around Christmas time. That will be SOOO awesome! I hope you have a great Christmas Kathleen!!

Perhaps they eat more pizza because they are spending less at traditional sit down restaurants? Though your theory is probably much more plausible - bail out.

I have a question, if you don't mind. What do you consider a reasonable tip for, say, a $30 delivery?

Kathleen´s last blog post..12.19.2008 - Last "Good On Friday" before Christmas
