Having spent my entire adult life in debt (I thought the credit card offers I was getting in college were offers for free money!), I finally realized that ridding myself of debt forever was the way to get rid of the ever-present knot in my stomach. It’s gonna burn! It’s gonna hurt, and at times, you will feel like giving up. Don’t give up!" This is good stuff Brad! This is a big reason why, even though my organized sports career ended a few years ago, I still push myself hard physically. I've found that the self-discipline you build up in the gym or on a bike helps in other areas too, whether it be writing a term paper or conquering debt slowly but surely. “At first you don’t believe it can be done, but as you keep on pushing, and keep on digging, you will get further than you even dreamed. The only thing I have to say is getting debt free is a marathon and not a 100 yard dash. Getting to the finish line is winning! Sometimes you will walk, sometimes run, sometimes go backward, and other times sprint!! It is SO worth it. It is the very best for your life, being debt free! I can think about other more important things like how to bless my wife and kids with my attention and peaceful attitude instead of debt on my shoulders weighing me down.
