I was born on February 8th 1975, and today I am 35 years young. Being 34 wasn’t bad at all, in fact as the years pass me by, they seem to get better and more fulfilling.
Some people have a problem with getting older, but not me. I welcome the added wisdom, knowledge, and experience of the previous year, and am ready to move on to bigger and better things. Age is nothing more than a number.

Hello everyone! I rarely share personal info unless it is related to money. Mostly because I know that when you come to Enemy of Debt, you are mainly interested in getting out of debt. I want you to get what you are looking for when you visit so I avoid talking about certain topics, unless it is related to money.
However, I thought it would be fun to share with you a special behind the scenes look at me—the Enemy of Debt. Learn some random facts about yours truly. Why now? That’s simple—we just had a baby and I am on cloud nine, so I thought I would lighten things up a bit. Please enjoy!
In 2009 I/we:
- got put on the map by Jim Kavanagh over at cnn.com causing Enemy of Debt to explode! (Thanks Jim!) I went from about 41 subscribers to now 294 since May of 2009, and I LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!!
- celebrated being married to my beautiful wife for 5 years! (Thank you Alana for putting up with me!)
- BECAME DEBT FREE BABY!!!!! (Thanks Dave Ramsey!)
- had a precious and healthy baby boy! (Thanks to God!)
- became a regular contributor at the Self Reliance Exchange to help encourage self-sufficiency! (Thanks to Clair and DDFD for the opportunity!)
All really wonderful and exciting experiences.

Needless to say I DID NOT get the job, in fact, the guy knew the very second that question came out of my mouth he wasn’t going to hire me. What makes it even more embarrassing is that it was a big opportunity for me at the time, and I was referred by a friend of a friend from the company. UPDATE: Piercing-Free since 2003. Hahaha! I don’t hate them per say, I just grew out of them.

My Favorite Christmas Ornament
These scissors were a gift from my first Financial Peace University class I led at my church. They have “Enemy of Debt” engraved on them!! ROCK ON FPU!
Notice the cut up credit card pieces that were placed in this ornament after we paid them off and closed each account for GOOD! We haven’t borrowed a penny since January of 2008, even though we were told it couldn’t be done!
Ornament reads: Financial Freedom…Priceless!!! Ornament is a gift I buy for anyone in my FPU class that cuts up there credit cards anytime during the 13 weeks.

Joseph Noah - Born 10-21-2009
Sometimes When LIFE Happens To You It Is A Blessing!
Well folks, Joseph Noah has arrived! Beautiful, healthy and a gift better than any other! I can only describe the feeling as life changing. That’s part of the beauty of being a parent. We learn so much from each child and each experience. The fact that a little baby can change us without ever saying a word is phenomenal! Today was a remarkable day indeed!
Here are a few preliminary photos, I plan to share more later on. Enjoy them as you are reminded of how beautiful life really is!

I will be sure to post some close-ups as soon as I can get home to take the pictures off of my camera.
Here is something else that makes this moment even more wonderful. Besides the debt that the U.S. Government is adding to his tab—Noah is debt free!!! I plan to make sure he keeps it that way.
Happy Days…
PICTURE UPDATE: I just wanted to add that Isaac has been so proud of his little brother. Even more than we could have ever imagined. This is Noah in my first favorite outfit.
And Isaac holding Noah for the very first time by himself—or as he would say, “I holda Noah all bys myself.” (Not mispelled) It is so adorable!

Got Cheeto's?

Okay, so I am not really quarantined, but I feel like I should be. I have had a temperature on and off since Sunday evening. Today my temperature was 101 something. With all of the swine flu outbreaks out there I tried to make an appointment to be seen by my doctor so I could get proper treatment if needed.
Apparently, if you have been sick for more than 48 hours then you do not qualify for treatment. Kind of odd if you ask me, especially if what I have is the swine flu. (there has been a large outbreak in the UVA area since the semester started.) I generally do not like taking medication unless absolutely necessary, but I also do not want to spread my dreadful condition to others.
The whole point of this post is just to inform you as to why I am not posting. As soon as the body aches, chest congestion, and sporadic temperatures go away I will be back on my game. For the last three days I have been huddled under multiple blankets, shivering uncontrollably—chugging Thera-Flu. I am hoping that Wednesday is much better for me. I promise to return! Wish me well!
