Last weekend my wife and I were in Duluth, MN for me to run a 5K and a half marathon as part of Grandma’s Marathon weekend. With that now behind us, it’s time to focus on summer projects. First up is a leftover from last year: re-staining the deck. I stripped it of the old stain last year, but didn’t get to finishing the project. So, we’ll be doing some light sanding and then putting a fresh coat of oil based stain on it. If we paid someone to do it, it would cost over $700. No Thanks. I know how to use a brush. 🙂
Get those fists up for summer projects, friends. Then take a peek at my favorite posts of the week!

Good luck with the deck re-stain and thanks for the list of fist-pumping blogs! I actually just read Stephanie’s. Good stuff!
Thanks, Elizabeth….glad you liked the articles!
Thank you for including the Fruclassity post, Travis : ) We will also be staining our deck this summer. Ours is a small one, but it would still cost $500 to hire someone to do it. When we (meaning “my husband”) do it, it doesn’t get done as soon as it should, but it’s OK to let go of “should” in the name of frugality. Congrats on another run!
