Last Saturday, I ran my 5th Marathon in Duluth, MN. When people talk about running a marathon, they talk about hitting “the wall.” Well, I didn’t just hit the wall, it fell on me and crushed me. Whew….but I pushed through it and finished in just over 4 hours and 23 minutes. I had hoped (again) to finish in under 4 hours, but I misjudged my conditioning. I’m not too disappointed as I over all we had a GREAT weekend in Duluth seeing the sights and going to a concert. Next up, I’m training for something called “The Looney Challenge” which is the same weekend as the Twin Cities Marathon in October. I’ll be running a 10K and a 5K on one day, and a 10 mile run the next. Yup, Looney……and totally fun.
Have a great weekend, and get those fists pumping for my favorite posts of the week!

Well you can have that running my friend. Keep up the good work, but long distances is not something in my wheel house.

It’s definitely not for everyone, thanks for the words of encouragement. Great to hear from you!
Thanks Travis!
One of our good friends is from Duluth but we’ve never been. Congrats on the marathon time, that’s great!
This was my first trip to Duluth as well…….lived in Minnesota all my life, and never been there. Great small city, had a great time!
Thanks for sharing Erin’s post! Really appreciate it. And congrats on killing it in the marathon last weekend! Something to be proud of, that’s for sure.
Thanks, DC…looking forward to running the Twin Cities 10 mile in October!!
Congrats on the marathon. I’m sure you’ll hit your goal time before you know it. It think 4.5 hours is amazing. Thanks for the mention!
Thanks for your kind words, Kim. I dunno….I may have come to the conclusion that I’m more of a half-marathon kind of guy. We’ll see. 🙂
