On Sunday, my son is having his senior pictures taken. After shelling out some serious cash for my daughter’s homecoming dress, this is going to be another shot in the budget. The good news is, the photographer has a menu of products, and we can pick and choose what we want to buy to fit within how much we want to spend. We’ll see if we can get what we want, or if we’re going to have to squeeze our spending a bit to pay more. One one hand, they’re just pictures….on the other hand he’ll only be a senior in High School once. What are your thoughts on senior pictures, worth it?

Both my son and daughter have taken their senior pictures over the summer. I can’t believe the cost. We have not finalized what we are orderings as of yet. It’s a nice keepsake and marks a big milestone, but we want to be smart about not over ordering and spending
Take as much time as you can, Brian….the more time you can take, and the more you can think about it, the more you can really zero in on what the most cost effective purchase will be!
I paid for my oldest daughter to have the school’s senior pictures done. My second daughter, I took to a local photographer, and just had a “regular” portrait package taken for her. I was getting ready to send out invitations for my stepson’s graduation, and found out his Mom had never taken him for senior photos at all. I took him over to Wal-Mart and had some nice photos done, just to have some to include in the invitations.
Photos are great. “Official Senior Photos” are just ridiculously expensive.
True story, Sassy Mamaw…….I wonder a lot about what our view of the eventual cost will be 10 or 20 years down the road.
