I Love You Like A Blogger Roundup – 12/20

We’re leaving town for the weekend for our usual holiday tour of Minnesota, but will be back home for Christmas Eve and Day.  We’re getting together with our neighbors for Christmas Eve dinner, and have planned something special.  We’re all chipping in and having prime rib and king crab legs.   I’ve never made prime rib, so I’m looking forward to the challenge.  It’s going to cost each family a bit of funds, but it’s going to be an awesome meal, and Christmas Eve is  a special occasion.  This is the sort of splurging that I can get into.

The only question is, smoke the prime rib or not??

  1. Thanks for including my debt update post Travis! We worked really hard to pay off all of that debt and we’re hoping to knock out the loans for good in the first half of 2013!

  2. The answer to your question is YES! Smoke the prime rib, but only if you have done it before. It can be tricky!

Thank you for including my coupon post Travis! I appreciate the support. I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

I’ve never done it before, and I’m not afraid to try something new….but prime rib is a pretty expensive cut of meat to be experimenting on – LOL. 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion, and the warning, Grayson!

  3. mmm sounds delicious! Have fun this weekend!

When I trained for the marathon I lost a bit of weight in the beginning but then it stopped. Training doesn’t mean you’ll lose weight and end up looking like an elite runner so don’t sweat it. Your body gets used to it (which makes sense otherwise you’d waste away by marathon time).

I can understand where you’re coming from, Glen…but on the other hand I think I’d be able to run a lot faster if I were a bit leaner. I guess we’ll see what happens, but thanks for sharing your experience!

    Thanks for the links.

On a side note, I read the title of your site as “Enemy of Motivational Money Management” because of the placement.

  6. Thanks so much for the mention. I’ve been running way more that I was in previous months and haven’t lost a pound. I think my weight right now is just what it’s meant to be. It seems to stay the same regardless of what I do, good or bad. The only way I can really drop weight is to starve or be incredibly stressed out, neither of which I hope to do!

We definitely have to be comfortable in our own skin, Kim….in my case I can see that there is a lot of junk food eating that I could cut out. I just need a little more will power. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!

  7. Hey Travis leave me a slice of that prime rib ok. Safe Travels and happy holidays.
