I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 2/1

Three words for you: Super. Bowl. Sunday.   I love Super Bowl Sunday and all that comes with it.  Funny commercials, great food, good times with friends, and if the game is good that’s just the cherry on top.  I have conflicting feelings about who to root for this year.  Randy Moss (Receiver) is now a 49er, and he gave Viking fans a whole lot to cheer about for a lot of years.  On the other hand, Matt Birk (Center) is a Raven, and I STILL can’t believe the Vikings let him go.  Great player, great person.  Both teams are also power running teams, which I love.  The Ravens get the edge though because Ray Lewis is one of best (or maybe even THE best) Linebackers of all time, and so very motivational and inspirational.  I’d love to see him go out with a Championship ring.

Speaking of motivational and inspirational, let’s get to this week’s roundup…

  1. Hey Travis thanks for the fist pump. I’ll be watching the Superbowl this weekend. I must admit I’ll be cheering for the next commercial break. I love those commercials 🙂

  2. Michelle says:

I’m not a huge football fan, but I’ll probably still watch!

    • Travis says:

Coolio, Michelle – but watch out, football is addicting. My wife used to not be a big fan, now she watches Vikings games religiously. Of course she falls asleep for a nice Sunday afternoon nap after that game is over – which poses a problem for me because I’ll keep watching whatever game is on and be yelling and screaming at the TV. 🙂

  3. Thanks for the mention. I am a 49ers fan so I am very excited about the whole Superbowl this year! Go 49ers!!!

    • Travis says:

I wouldn’t be disappointed if the Niners won….despite the negativity surrounding Moss, him playing has made an impact on the football landscape – one of the best ever to play the game. I’d love to see him get a ring too.

  4. Agatha says:

Ginormous THANKS for including me in your roundup this week!!!! What an amazing surprise. I am so grateful, yo

    • Travis says:

I’m tickled that you used the word “Ginormous” – it’s one of my favorites. It’s just fun to say. All together now, “GINORMOUS.” Your video was kick ass – it has me wanting my own set of owl pajamas, preferably with feet. LOL.

  5. I’ll be watching, it’s my second favorite day of the year after Thanksgiving. 🙂 I really don’t care who wins, but as a lifelong Cowboys fan I can’t in good conscience cheer for the 49ers.

    • Travis says:

Oh, John, now I have that image of Owens on the Dallas Star in my head. I know that’s a big rivalry – so do a big Ray Lewis dance on Sunday, maybe it’ll help. Enjoy the game!

  6. Mackenzie says:

Thanks for the shout-out Travis! I’m excited to work with you 🙂 Oh, and go 49ers!!!!

    • Travis says:

Thanks MacKenzie – hope you have some awesome plans to enjoy the game. I have to get my material for you ready before the game starts, otherwise it may become incoherent really fast! 🙂

  7. Thanks for the mention Travis! Have a good weekend~!

  8. Jackie says:

Hey thanks for including my link 🙂

I’m not sure who I’ll root for yet — but probably one of the commercials 😉

    • Travis says:

Haha, Jackie, rooting for a commercial – that’s funny! The commercials have become as big of the event as the game these days haven’t they?!?

  9. Laurie says:

We’re football lovers kinda sorta, but it’s all about the food and the fun for us. Go, buffalo wings! 🙂

  10. I don’t care about either of the teams, but I just want Ray Lewis to go out with another ring.

    Thanks for the mention, Travis!

  11. Luckily for me all the good Superbowl commercials are available on line and there are regular updates as to when the half time show will be on so I can see all the good parts and not have to watch even one second of football.

If it was the Stanley Cup I wouldn’t miss a minute of it.

    • Travis says:

I heard that they are already available too, Jane Savers! I’ve been avoiding them because I don’t want it to ruin the experience of seeing them during the game. 🙂 I bet you’re glad that the NHL is back in action!

      • The team geographicaly closest to my are the Toronto Maple Leafs. They lose season after season and never make the play offs or get eliminated in the first round. Yet they sell out every single home game and charge hundreds of dollars per seat. Regualr Joes and Janes like me can’t afford to see a game.

        • Travis says:

I know exactly what you mean Jane, the amount of money it costs to see a professional sports game live is crazy stupid. The only time I go to one is when I get reduced or free tickets.

  12. Cassi says:

Honestly, and don’t throw something at me, no one is a big football person in my house. I’ve only watched one Superbowl all the way through, and it was when my state was playing. Since then, my family hasn’t really cared. I want to get into football, but I never do. Oops.

    • Travis says:

Boooooo, where’s my rotten vegetables! LOL….it’s OK, Cassi, not everybody loves football. I’m sure you have plenty of other interests to keep you busy. 🙂
