Hello M Summers! Glad you liked 2.0! :)

Sorry to hear about your trouble downloading 3.0. I have not been able to figure out why some people are having trouble downloading 3.0. It could be that I created it in Office 2007. I do not have trouble getting it to work properly so I'm not sure what to tell you. I wish I could help. Are you sure that the download box is using MS Office to download the file. Some people are telling me that it's appearing as a zip file but I don't know why.

Here's the direct download file: http://www.enemyofdebt.com/EOD Basic 3.0 Beta.xlsx

Is this box popping up and saying the exact same thing as you see here? http://www.enemyofdebt.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/ScreenShot0011.bmp

I was very impressed with your Delux Budget 2.0, so I downloaded the zip file for EOD Basic Budget 3.0. The zip file only contains html links and folders. How do I run it or what do I click on to run it?

Umm, you could just place that under "Personal", but I don't think placing it under mortgage or transportation would be a problem either. The only problem it would cause is inflating the percentage of the category you place it in as far as your spending for that category but I don't see that as a very big deal. :D

Thank you for the quick response! :-)

1 is a Comprehensive Insurance inclusive of car(s) & household. Would you still slot it under the mortgage?

I would stick both 1 and 2 in the same section as my mortgage. :D

There's really no way to convert anything without affecting other cells, but since you get paid monthly just use "WEEK 1" in the income section. I'm not sure if there's a way to convert the dollar sign but I'll look into it. :D

Where would you slot the below mentioned in the Deluxe Budget 2.0;

1. Household Insurance
2. Life Cover (taken to cover the cost of the mortgage)

Also, if you are monthly paid how do you convert the weekly columns to one?

Finally in South Africa we use Rands, how do I convert from the $ sign to R?

[...] I have to say that the best one I have seen so far was created by Brad Chaffee over at Enemy of Debt. His budget spreadsheet, called EOD Deluxe Budget Version 2.0 is amazing! It includes an allocated spending plan, a checkbook register, savings worksheets and links to other financial websites as well. It is very detailed, and when I decide to keep everything on my computer rather than a piece of paper in my wallet, I’m leaning towards this one. Check it out here. [...]
