The Psychology of Getting Out of Debt

One week ago many of you started working on your financial resolutions for 2012. Hopefully those of you with debt resolved to put together a solid plan to destroy it once and for all. There are many factors that go into the process of debt elimination but one that is often overlooked or underestimated is the psychological side. Anyone can say they want to become debt free but it’s our emotionally-driven behaviors and attitudes that will grant us final passage into the world of financial freedom. Math is only a very small component in the game of debt yet it’s […] Read more »

What P90X Can Teach You About Paying Off Debt

Hello everyone and welcome to Enemy of Debt! As most of you know, I recently realized that my actions were not aligned with my goals. This prompted me to fire up the engine room over at Enemy of Fat, but also, to start P90X right now, as opposed to later. My initial goal was to wait until I had lost a few pounds first, then start P90X. Saying “I Can’t” Is Just Like Saying “I Don’t Want To”

Photo Credit: haydnseek Have you ever said “I can’t?” I have, and you probably have too. What is it that you are really saying when you speak those words? A persons attitude about money is the number one hindrance to acquiring wealth and prosperity. Your attitude affects your behavior, and your behavior […] Read more »

No College Degree Equates To Poverty And A Life Of Debt?

I got a little annoyed last week, when it was suggested that for someone with only a high school diploma, they were limited to working at the checkout at Walmart. (This argument was used to explain why debt was needed by low income families to get by.) Believing this is ridiculous, and spreading it around for someone without a degree to hear, is irresponsible!  This is America!! Imagine someone with only a high school diploma, hearing someone say this and believing it. Dreams can be crushed before they ever have a chance to germinate.  This is why I am such […] Read more »
