Quarantined For The Moment

swine-fluOkay, so I am not really quarantined, but I feel like I should be.  I have had a temperature on and off since Sunday evening.  Today my temperature was 101 something.  With all of the swine flu outbreaks out there I tried to make an appointment to be seen by my doctor so I could get proper treatment if needed.

Apparently, if you have been sick for more than 48 hours then you do not qualify for treatment.  Kind of odd if you ask me, especially if what I have is the swine flu.  (there has been a large outbreak in the UVA area since the semester started.)  I generally do not like taking medication unless absolutely necessary, but I also do not want to spread my dreadful condition to others.

The whole point of this post is just to inform you as to why I am not posting.  As soon as the body aches, chest congestion, and sporadic temperatures go away I will be back on my game.  For the last three days I have been huddled under multiple blankets, shivering uncontrollably—chugging Thera-Flu.  I am hoping that Wednesday is much better for me.  I promise to return!  Wish me well!  😀

I had the swine flu and it started with a fever of varying degrees. My wife wrote something about it here: http://authspot.com/thoughts/swine-flu/

It really sucked, hope you feel better.

Thank you Jesse! Your symptoms sound exactly like mine, and oh how miserable it is. Yesterday I woke up on the couch and it was SOAKING WET. You would have thought I sprayed the couch down with a water hose. One of the funniest, and CUTEST things though was one time when I sneezed, my little man, offered me his hand to cover my mouth. So helpful! It was so cute!

No problem and yea haha kids can be so cute, man I love my kids. My daughter kept asking, “daddy are you sick?” over and over haha. The swine really wasn’t much worse than the regular flu but keep it way from pregnant moms or newborns cos that can be lethal.

by the way, that image…gross man haha

Yeah my wife was exposed at work by a fellow Nurse who should have stayed home. The hospital sent her home but my wife was still exposed. The doctor put her on Tamiflu for 10 days as a precaution. we are due on the 23rd of October…almost there, and we can’t wait! 🙂

Yikes I didnt realize your better half (haha 😉 ) was pregnant. I was real worried about my 5 month old catching it but breast milk boosts the immune system and she didnt even sniffle. Good luck man..shouldn’t you be sleeping?

I just got my Flu Shot yesterday at work. I am so glad I even have a job to come to to even get flu shots for free for their employees.

Take care and have plenty of sleep!!!! I hear Sleep is the best cure.

  7. Sorry to hear about your situation Brad. My wife and I have a two week newborn at home and are doing everything we can to prevent the flu. We will all be getting the flu shot just in case.

    Get better soon.
