I have been blogging for over a year now but I can honestly say that I really didn’t know blogging until I met J Money over at Budgets Are Sexy.  He is the first person I met blogging that I became friends with.  I admire his frugality and extreme dedication to saving and investing.  He is not even 30, yet he has more savings than the average person in their 50′s.

We communicate back and forth quite frequently and have much respect for each other.  We have even been known to duke it out, in a friendly fun kind of way, on his blog as well as on other blogs.  The most recent one was here at Money Funk.  I sent J an email after one of our friendly duels, and he decided to turn it into a post to highlight the power of visualization.  Specifically the visualization of a life without debt.  Go check it out and see why we have so much fun!

I want to thank J Money for showing me some stuff I didn’t know about blogging and helping me when I sometimes bugged him multiple times a day.  We had a brew together once but I hope we are able to share more.  Here’s to great friends and cheers to the personal finance blog world that I love oh so much!  Thanks J!

    Well now you can thank J Money for the publicity; I’m sure I’m not the only one who found your site thanks to his recent post.

    I love your CRX by the way. I bet that thing gets some kickin’ good gas mileage! I have a Civic that I bought with cash, gets 40 mpg, and runs like a charm. It feels pretty darn good!

      @Blake – You’re right about that, and trust me I did that before he ever published it. I do get some pretty good gas mileage too. It has great pick up, drives like a dream considering it is so old. The only thing I wish it had was power steering. LOL

      @Danielle – Glad to hear you are working the plan. Dave’s plan is solid! I know it changed our life in a serious way.

      @Kate – I am so glad you found EOD too, and trust me Jay is the man, and will always be a friend to me. The CRX is definitely a SWEET car. Not sure what happened as far as the comment box though. It’s supposed to get bigger when you type so you can always see your entire comment before you publish it. Let me know if it happens again and I’ll look into it. (For the record, I have a few flaws with my current theme that I need to figure out. Maybe I need to take a class to help me do that after I finish the public speaking class.) lol

    Hey! I love your blog. Found it while blog hopping today. My husband and I have been following the baby steps since last August. We’re temporarily putting off baby step 2 to build up our emergency fund (we’ve done most of step 2 – just have a small piece of our car loan left). This makes us feel much better given the current state of the economy. It feels nice to have a bit in the bank.

    I’m so glad that I found you – compliments of Jay. I love the CRX – mine was my favorite car ever. I hope thier are no typos – the comments box shrunk to invisible when I started typing. What’s up with that?

    You two had me laughing. And there was valid points from both of you. J. Money is right that you can greatly benefit in using your CCs with rewards if you can use and PIF in a timely manner (like he said 1%). But, I know that I fit in the 99% of the people and don’t quite trust that I could use and PIF in a timely manner. Hence the reason there is so much consumer debt in the world!

      LOL Money Funk! Yeah me and Jay have fun! I think he is a great friend to have!

      Yeah I agree with you about the 99/1 percentages. We definitely fall into the 99% of people that DO NOT have the discipline required to pay the balance every month. I do still believe that the 1% that do, still run a risk of using that same debt to bail them out of trouble if a real emergency was to ever come. Jay on the other hand has a very nice savings and retirement so I think he has nothing to worry about. I wonder how many of the 1% have no savings? Hmmm.
