Yesterday was the last day of school for the kids, so summer vacation is officially underway. I think I’m just as excited as they are as I get three months of not having to go through the morning routine of pulling kids out of bed, making sack lunches, and making sure they get to the bus stop on time. We all get to sleep in a little longer, and our daily pace can slow down just a little bit. I’m looking forward to some lazy afternoons by the pool at our health club, and evenings sitting on the deck with friends.
Maybe I’ll also get just a little bit more time to read blog posts too. Here are my favorites from the last week:

You are welcome, Robb! I plan on firing up the smoker and throwing on some Ribs and chicken – how could my weekend get any better than that?!?!
My kids had their last day of school a couple of days ago. Apparently, my 13 year old son is celebrating by trying to sleep 24 hours straight. He did get up for an early breakfast at noon before falling back to sleep, so I guess I should take it easy on him.
Haha, Zimmy – it’s funny because it’s TRUE! My son is 14 and is trying to celebrate the exact same way! Except for late night online gaming….he’s all in for that. LOL. 🙂
Great reads! I hope you enjoy the weekend.
There were a lot of great ones to choose from this week, Mike – including from your site! I had a great weekend, and I’m re-energized and ready to start a new week!
Summer vacation, yay! Thanks for these links.
We started off Summer Vacation with a BBQ feast with friends. I made Ribs on the smoker and they turned out PERFECT. Hope your weekend was just as enjoyable KC!
Sounds like a good start man. And sounds like nicely-done ribs. Weekend was awesome.
