I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 1/24

I’m out of town this weekend on our 3rd annual mid-winter vacation to the Wisconsin Dells.  We’re having a ton of fun at the indoor water parks during the day, and playing games at night.  It’s our way of presenting the middle finger to this whole Polar Vortex thing.   The AWESOME thing is, we saved up enough cash to have a healthy spending budget while we’re away.  We’re still evaluating each purchase to make sure it brings value to our vacation, but we have a little more liberty this vacation than we have in years past.  It took a little work to save up the extra funds, but it’s nice to just put an amount of cash each morning into the wallet and know it’s all within the budget.

Being wise with our money feels great.  That’s a fist pump all on it’s own.  But if that’s not enough, put ’em in the air again for my favorite posts of the week:

  1. Thanks for pumping your fist for my post Travis. I appreciate it. Glad you are able to give the finger to the Polar Vortex. This thing sucks!

  2. Thanks for the mention Travis! I just can’t ever imagine buying a new car and watch it depreciate over the next couple years. Think of how terrible that would look from a net worth standpoint! You pay $25k for a new car and in 2 years it’s worth $15k. Your net worth just went down $10k. No thank you.

Used cars depreciate as well, obviously, but that first year on a brand new car is BRUTAL! You’re welcome for the mention, Derek, keep on doin’ your thing!

  3. Have fun at the indoor water park. Even though it’s nice here I have to admit that sounds really fun!

It’s a ton of fun, Tonya, and the kids LOVE it! We’re staying at a different place this year, and I’m missing the indoor body board / surfing thing that they have at our “regular” destination. Oh well, there’s still a ton of great rides!

You are getting really close to hitting your emergency fund goal, Travis! Woo hoo! 🙂

    Enjoy your fun weekend!

  5. Way to go on the weight loss and that e-fund, Travis!!! Have an awesome time this weekend, knowing you’re just steps away from debt freedom. 🙂

It’s great being able to enjoy a vacation knowing that we’re paying cash and on budget, Laurie – and in the back of my I’m fantasizing about that last payment. 🙂
