Ebay Experiment: Taking Ebay To The Next Level

Well folks, I am ready to take Ebay to the next level. We have had very good success using the methods outlined in Selling On Ebay Is As Easy As 1-2-3, but it’s time to expand our efforts. The main reason for this is because my wife starts her new job as an R.N. at the end of the month. We have been very happy not having to use a day care provider up to this point and we intend to continue this. My wife is going to have a pretty erratic schedule in the beginning, so we are being forced to make some changes and adjust if we want to continue to avoid daycare. Our goal for July is to make enough money to cover our mortgage and utilities. This number would be roughly $1500.

In the last two months Alana and I have brought in an extra $850 from selling on Ebay. We have also brought in an extra $250 from selling books on Amazon.com for a grand total of $550 per month. This only makes me more convinced that ANYONE can save an Emergency Fund if they REALLY WANT to. The keyword of course is the word WANT! If you WANT to change your life and habits YOU CAN, but ONLY if you WANT to!! I can NOT emphasize that enough!!

Can we make $1500 a month just by using Ebay?

Yes, but the method we have been using so far is only good for extra money. We have found that we must find another way to double or even triple our results. We are NOT going to stop using the methods from before but instead we are going to tap additional resources.

In fact we are going to even step up our efforts with the original method by doubling our listings. This does not mean that we will automatically double our profits but it does mean that our profits will grow. We are going to try using local and online auctions to raise the bar. We are hoping that by buying in bulk from auctions and reselling on Ebay, we will reach our goals.

So there you have it. I will certainly keep you updated as to our progress in meeting our goals. I named our short term goal above. Our long term goal would be to completely FUND and PAY for our monthly expenses. Mortgage, utilities, food, blow money…EVERYTHING! This would free up both of our incomes to pay off debt and save.

Just in case you didn’t hear that last part right; we would have both of our incomes to use for paying debt and saving money!!!! My wife makes really good money as an R.N. and I am working on starting a business of my own aside from this eBay stuff and delivering. If we are successful at this then our plan will change completely! Our Total Money Makeover will get easier and we will make it to Baby Step 4 in NO TIME! There is something to be said for gazelle intensity!! With Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover and Dan Miller’s advice on business and careers we are in the perfect position to excel. I would like to thank the both of them for changing my habits, thinking, and most of all my life.
