The Debt Free Game Giveaway!

Happy Friday everyone! Today I am giving away two (2) copies of The Debt Free Game!!

This game isn’t to be confused with my recent giveaway and fundraiser of the “I’m Debt Free” game.

This is a completely different game, and one that I know you will also enjoy. One of the major differences is the fact that this game is a little more kid-friendly and interactive. It’s also much cheaper and comes with FREE shipping. Total cost: $22.00.

I have to admit, we weren’t making a very great effort to sit around the kitchen table to enjoy a family board game before. BUT since I am the Enemy of Debt, and this is a debt free game, we have had a little more game time at our house recently. I wasn’t sure how myย  4 year old would respond to this game but it didn’t take long before I realized that he was really enjoying himself, and so were we. It’s a family-friendly fun time!!

One of my favorite things about this game is that when the game is over, you can allow your kids to keep their “winnings” from the game. We simply put Isaac’s “cut” in his envelopes along with the commission he earns from doing his chores. Isaac is only 4 years old, but I would be willing to bet he knows more about debt, spending, saving, and giving than most kids his age. I have been working with Isaac for a little over a year and am glad to have another tool to use to keep him interested in learning about handling his money responsibly.

It’s tough enough in this world without having to worry about financial stress. Are you doing what you can to teach your kids about money?

This game is very easy to learn. Living debt free is a great way to give you and your family the financial advantage you have been looking for. Make learning about money and living debt free fun. 1. The wife and I (no kids yet) played Stratego a couple weeks ago.

    2. Taking the money out of your 401K and not rolling it over = bad.

Also, your post was Stumbled by me.

  2. Joyce says:

The last time I played a board game was many years ago. The lesson I would like my children to have is never let anyone take charge of your finances…make sure you know where every penny is going.

    Answers to the questions:

    1. Well, it has been awhile since we have sat down to play a board game as a family. My daughter is 11 and my son is 6 – so, I haven’t found many games they like to play together. Plus, I want a game that teaches something positive.

    2. The one biggest mistake I want the kids to learn is the obvious one: learn to save. The “rat race” is not worth spending every dime on.

  4. Ernest S. says:

    1) I played Chutes & Ladders and Mastermind with my niece and nephew two weeks ago while we were on vacation. We accidentally found the two games in the closet at the beach house. Great fun!

    2) The biggest mistake I made was not leaning how to properly budget until my twenties. I am certain that I would have so much more money saved and invested had I tracked where I was spending money in college and in my early career.

  5. 1. We played Ticket to Ride (a Eurogame based on trains) last night with friends.

    2. Do not invest your money in a friend’s business without doing your due diligence. We lost $15,000 because we were young and naive.

I can’t do any of the other stuff from work, so I’m emailing myself a note. I also am putting your giveaway into my Weekly Favorites for tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope this goes great for everyone!

  6. Penny says:

    1. Played Cirkus with kids yesterday.

    2. I’d like them to learn that borrowing isn’t the cure all – especially in your early 20’s. If you save up you won’t have to repay later. Hard lesson for me to learn, but worth it.

  7. Melissa says:

When is the last time you sat around the kitchen table with your family to play a board game? – Maybe Christmas of 2009 and it wasn’t a repeat occurence.

Of all your financial mistakes, what ONE MISTAKE would you want your kids to learn the most? Buying things with money I didn’t have…CREDIT CARDS!!

  8. iluvmiamiheat says:

I don’t want my kids to run up their credit cards bills in college & alwayssssssssss pay at least the minimum bill ๐Ÿ™‚ so debt collectors will not harrass you

  9. Pamela O. says:

    1. It’s been a while. More than likely it was Sequence, maybe a year ago, without kids because they are all too young yet.

    2. Budget, budget, budget and know where your money is going!! (Therefore it follows that they would only buy what they can actually pay for, not borrow for!)
