I have been at it for two who years. WOW! I can hardly believe it myself.
First, I want to thank all of you for keeping me motivated each and every week to continue to spread the debt free message. Before Enemy of Debt I had not written a thing, with exception to some high school papers long, long ago. To me, sticking this blog thing out is a huge accomplishment. I started to fade out around December of 2008 and feel I was close to just giving it up.
I think most bloggers experience this same feeling at some point—it’s like hitting “the wall” when you reach the 20 mile mark when running a marathon—the seemingly sky-high bloggers wall is intimidating at times.
I am glad I didn’t give up because I feel I have come A LONG WAY since then. Someone told me in the beginning that if you write, they will come. Haha! I wouldn’t say it’s completely true, but hey, maybe that’s what kept me going. It was my media mention on CNN.COM that re-fueled my passion and powered the engine into overdrive. I would also like to give credit to my really good friend, J Money from Budgets Are Sexy, for inspiring me and helping me figure some things out. It was his friendship that helped me transfer this blog into something more readable.
I have since developed many great friendships with other bloggers, that have helped me develop and grow as a blogger. Thank you all!
Lastly, but certainly MORE important, I want to thank my wife for putting up with my spending countless hours on this computer. Her patience and support has made all of it possible!
Some may think this blogging stuff is easy, but it’s lots of hard work, lots of dedication, and hours upon hours spent trying to give you something to enjoy each and every week is sometimes extremely overwhelming. In the end though, it is completely worth it.
I’ll see you in two more years! 😀

- Bankruptcy – The Morning After Pill of Personal Finance – Bankruptcy is seen as a savior instead of a last resort. these days the last resort is just deciding you don’t want to pay back the money you owe. JULY 2008
- My Payments Ate My Savings! – The reason so many people do not have savings is because their debt payments are taking their entire paychecks. It’s hard to save when the banks are getting your money. AUGUST 2008
- To Be Bullied Or Not Be Bullied, That Is The Question – Creditors will bully you into paying money you don’t have. Don’t let them! SEPTEMBER 2008

- Personal Responsibility Starts With YOU – The best place to start with changing your attitude is by holding yourself accountable for why you are where you are right now. You got yourself where you are, and only YOU can change where you go from there. Take action instead of wait for someone else to do it for you. MARCH 2009

- Feeling Like You Are Bankrupt, Is Different Than Actually Being Bankrupt – Being broke and being bankrupt are two different things, but people often consider them the same. Being bankrupt is not having any options, but being broke is about finding better options. (Like doing the hard part and paying your debts off, like many before you have.) FEBRUARY 2010
- Great Financial Advice From The In-Flight Safety Handbook – The best way to help others is to help yourself first. This post illustrates that example perfectly. MARCH 2010
- Hitting A Home Run and Becoming Debt Free Are the Same! (REVISED) – Since I only have one post for this month so far this year, here is the very first post ever published on Enemy of Debt.
