I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 3/14

Happy Friday, EOD Nation – I hope your week was as great as mine!

The Pizel family is doing something that we haven’t done for awhile, and it’s long overdue:  We’re all going in to get our eyes checked.    That means new glasses for Vonnie and contacts for Tristan.  Last time we went, Tori was told she no longer needed glasses, which made her very excited.  The odd thing is, just recently she dug out her old glasses and has been wearing them just for fun because she likes how she looks in them.

Kind of a head scratcher, don’t you think?

Speaking of oddities, being a software engineer AND a blogger I spend most of my waking hours looking at a screen.  My brother (who is also a programmer) and I are the only ones in our entire family who don’t wear corrective lenses of any kind.

When was the last time you had YOUR eyes checked?

In honor of our eye exams, put a hand over one eye…..then pump that fist!

  1. Good luck with the exams. The family and I go once a year. My son and I wear contacts and my daughter wears glasses. So we make it a point to have our eyes checked regularly.

Thanks Brian…unfortunately we have been putting it off. It’s potentially a significant expense, so we had been trying to get to the end of our DMP, and thus have more funds available before we went. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I’m getting my eyes checked at the end of month. I have to get it done yearly as I’m at risk for developing cataracts. *one-eyed fist pump!

  3. Time for me to get my eyes checked too–we often seem to forget about that health piece. Thanks for the mention and for the interview!

Anytime, Kurt – thank YOU for giving me the opportunity to share my story with your readers. I heard the guy at the optometrist’s office say that taking care of your eyes is just as important as taking care of your teeth or any other part of your body – time to get back on a regular schedule!

  4. Thanks for the fist pump, Travis! I had lazik years ago but I actually still need reading glasses. 🙂 The girls don’t need them yet and fingers crossed – we can go a few more years before they do! Have a great weekend!

  5. Very interesting about you and your brother!! My eye doc told me my eyes and Maddie’s eyes were bad because of all of the time on the computer. We’re due for our exams too. So much to do! Have a great weekend, Travis.

I would have thought that staring at a screen all day would have that effect on my eyes too, Laurie……who knows, my time may come yet!!
