Our house was built 12 years ago, and there’s some rooms that have never been repainted, including a lower level living room. I’m taking today off, and my dad is staying with me for a few days to give it a nice fresh coat of paint. I’m not the most skilled painter, but my dad is very experienced. I’m looking forward to spending some time with my dad, picking up some great painting tips, and saving some money by doing the painting ourselves.
Fist pump for a fresh coat of paint, and my favorite posts of the week!

Thanks for the mention, Travis!! Always fun to get a fresh coat of paint in a room – gives it such a refreshing look!
I agree, Laurie….it looks SO MUCH BETTER!
Good luck with the painting. I painted the entire exterior of our house last year, by myself. What a job. Nothing beats a fresh coat of paint!
I’ve painted the exterior of a home once….I’ll never do that again. YUCK. Of course my current home has maintenance free siding, so it doesn’t need to be painted. I don’t look forward to learning how much it will cost to put on new siding when that time comes, though.
Good luck with the painting. It’s a pain in the butt but very rewarding to have that nice clean look.
It looks like a completely different room – Love it! Thanks for reading!
Thanks for the mention and very cool that you are saving some money by painting the house yourself! Our house is about 40 years old and we unfortunately have to go a bit deeper than painting and some of the more surface level cosmetic fixes. But we knew that going into it : )
Hope you have a great weekend!
Would love to read about some of your adventures on your blog, DC!
