Yesterday the Pizel family headed to Valleyfair, an amusement park about 90 minutes away in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. It was our last summertime “hurrah” for family activities. We arrived 30 minutes after the park opened, and stayed almost until it closed. I haven’t gone on that many rides in one day in, well….ever. So. Much. Fun. How did you say goodbye to summer?
Fist pump for amusement parks, and keep ’em going for my favorite posts of the week!

I love amusement parks…Cedar Point being my favorite. I leave kicking and screaming. I don’t have a particular way to close out the summer, mainly because I don’t have kids, and the weather stays nice here, so it just kind of blends. I do miss the crisp fall weather of the midwest though. Thanks so much for the link love!
Does summer really ever end out in Cali????
Gah can’t believe it’s already time to say “goodbye” to Summer. This Summer went by so fast. The past two months have really been consumed by our retaining wall project with a short trip to Vegas thrown in there. Prior to that I was studying for the GMAT so I was indoors a bit more than I’d like. I’m saying goodbye to Summer by finishing this retaining wall project!
Thanks for mentioning our post!
Well, we have to say goodbye to summer vacation, but I’m not ready to say goodbye to nice weather just yet…..luckily I have football to distract me as it gets crappy outside. lol
Nothing better than a day at an amusement park. We are still trying to plan our last summer hurrah. Enjoy the weekend!
Better get a move on that planning, Brian….not many days left! 🙂
Thanks for the mention, Travis! We went on our first ever family trip to Valleyfair earlier this summer. SO fun. I hadn’t been there in a good 20+ years.
I hadn’t been there for a number of years either Laurie….man, I love Wild Thing!
Thanks so much for mentioning our post! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with the family.
You’re welcome, Jenna! Had a GREAT weekend!!!
I’m not a fan of amusement parks. Not really much of a rider. But it’s cool that you got away and had some fun! I can’t believe summer is almost over! We are heading on vacation next week and I am looking forward to it.
Great list of posts too. I read a couple throughout the week and thought they were standouts, especially Shopping Ban/Mindful Spending.
I’m not much of a fan of rides that spin…..but whew, I could ride roller coasters ALL DAY. I’m a big fan of the shopping ban/Mindful Spending post as well!
