I Love You Like A Blogger Roundup – 10/24

fistpumpMy daughter wanted to have a Halloween party with her friends, so we’ve been busily helping her with the planning and collecting the needed supplies.   We’ll be decorating the garage and doing prep work tonight, and her party is tomorrow evening.  There will be some special treats, a decked out garage, music, and pumpkin carving.   As we have little discussions here or there to put the finishing touches on the party, I can see a little gleam in her eye.  I know that look, it’s the same one her mother gets when she’s planning an event.  I’m really looking forward to her and her friends having a good time.

Maybe I can even get them to fist pump…..

  1. I know that event-planning gleam in the eyes you mention–I’m the same way! You are very sweet to help your daughter plan her party. I remember my parents setting up my birthday parties at home for me and those are such awesome memories. Thanks for this great list of reading suggestions!

LOL, glad to hear it’s not just my wife and daughter, Mrs. Frugalwoods. She and her friends had such a great time – I know they made some great memories!

  2. Thanks for the mention Travis! Enjoy the weekend. Hope the Halloween party is a success!

  3. I’m sure your daughter will have a great time with her friends. It’s really nice of you to help so much with it, and I’m sure she appreciates it. I also think it’s always nice for parents to have kids over to their place versus elsewhere. You get to keep an eye on them and know a little more about their friend group.

Hope you have a great weekend and thanks a ton for including Erin’s post. It was a good one and a lot of people liked it. She’s setting the standard high so I need to bring up my own writing game on Y.A.M. haha.

My wife always said she wanted our house to be “the hangout” for our kids and their friends. Keeping them close, and always under watchful eye is a good thing. 🙂 I’ve always been a fan of Erin’s writing, hope to see more of her work on Y.A.M!

  4. Sounds like a fun party!!! Don’t get too hopped up on chocolate, Travis. 😉

    • Travis says:

Haha, Laurie, no chance of that happening – I’m not really a big fan of chocolate. It’s those Starbursts and Livesaver gummies that will get me into trouble. 🙂

  5. That’s so cute you are planning a fun Halloween party for your daughter. Nice work on dad duty! Great roundup you have here, will have to check these posts out.

I’m a very involved parent, Melanie – my wife is the “ideas” person, and I’m the execution guy. She tells me her vision, and I find a way to make it happen. We’re a party planning machine. LOL. Thanks for stopping by!

  6. Love the picture, Travis! I can feel the energy of that fist pump. =) I hope you have fun helping your daughter plan her Halloween party. I’m sure it will turn out to be a blast. Thanks for including my post over at Young Adult Money!
