Happy Friday, EOD Nation! Recently I wrote a post about Gazelle intensity, and how I needed to channel my inner gazelle to save up for a projected tax bill come April. I had thought that I would need to save about $7000, however after recalculating I believe it’s actually $5500. Christmas kind of put a slowdown on the savings, but we have been able to put away $1500 towards the effort. That means we need to save $1000 in each of the first four months of the year to make it happen. I’ve done the calculations, and have a budget in place to ensure success. I’ll keep you posted on the progress, but having a solid plan in place to take me to the finish line makes me want to fist pump!
Keep ’em going for my favorite posts of the week!

Thanks so much for the mention! And I’m glad you owe less than you thought- that always helps! Have a great weekend!
Yeah, less than I thought…but still too much! Gotta update those withholdings!!!
I was in the same boat. I was paying estimated taxes every quarter for 2014 and at the end of the year when I was totaling up my income, I freaked out because I thought I was going to owe a ton more. But then I rechecked my numbers and made mistake. Looks like I am right on target for the year and just have to save a little bit to cover the outstanding amount due.
I bet that was a huge relief, Jon – it never hurts to check and recheck the numbers!
Thanks much for the mention Travis, it’s much appreciated! I’ve been in that boat before as well, though at least it’s less than you originally thought. 🙂 Have a great weekend sir!
Weekends are always great “recharge the batteries” time, John. Ready to roll again!
Hey Travis, I love reading about your determination and discipline when it comes to your finances! I hope our income grows this year to the point where we need to pay estimated taxes.
Thanks so much for the mention, as well!
I’m pulling for you, Khaleef…keep pushing and you’ll get there! Thanks for stopping by!
It’s so awesome being able to budget and pay for that kind of stuff in cash, isn’t it? 🙂 Have a terrific weekend, Travis!
Haha, you bet it does, Laurie!!!! Each time I make a big payment to anything I pause for a minute and savor the fact that I’m paying it off. I know, I’m a little strange…..
