I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 02/08

Looks like Old Man Winter is aiming to put the smack down on the North East this weekend.  In some ways I’m kind of jealous because we haven’t had much snow here in Minnesota this year.  On the other hand, I am starting to think I’m just DONE with winter at this point.  I’m ready for warmer weather and the ability to strap on my running shoes and head out on a crisp spring morning.  Not that I mind running in colder weather, it’s a safety factor as the sidewalks are packed with snow and ice right now.  I’m just anxious to really dig in to my marathon training again, and I can only run so far on a treadmill.

Oh yeah, right, I’m supposed to be loving some people like a blogger.  Let’s rock this thing.

Thanks so much Travis! We’re getting nailed tonight overnight into tomorrow with the storm…not so much fun. I’m also ready for spring…even slightly milder winter temps so I can get outside again, I feel like a caged animal. Have a great weekend!

    • Travis says:

Rrrroooaaaar, Caged animal! LOL…..I agree Catherine. While we do go outside to play in the snow, I’m ready for bike rides and having a beer on the deck. How much snow are they forecasting for you?

  2. Michelle says:

I don’t even know what the weather is supposed to be like for the next week, I should probably check that haha 🙂

  3. We’ve not had much snow this winter either. I think the worst was 6-7 inches at once and that really is not too bad in the long run. I’ll be interested to see if the Northeast gets dumped on as much as they’re thinking. I love the winter though as I love cold weather. Spring is ok, but it means that summer is close behind which I am NOT a fan of.

    • Travis says:

Don’t like summer? I don’t think we can be blogging friends anymore, John. Hahaha, just kidding. I know some people that LOVE winter more than anything – if they could live on their snowmobile if they could.

Here in Cali, we have mild winters here. I say that as we have thunderstorms due in this afternoon 😉 But I am ready for spring as well. My apartment has pre-Carter administration windows and it lets all the cold air in. Paper thin windows, ugh…

    Have a great weekend Travis!

Thunderstorms are my FAVORITE, MacKenzie! I love to watch them, I love to listen to them, and more than anything else, I love to fall asleep listening to one. Call me cooky. My wife and I are the completely opposites on that…if she never hear another crack of thunder again in her life, that’d be just fine with her!

  5. I’m a Minnesota native myself, although I have since moved. My family has reported a fairly mild winter, however, which is kind of a bummer if you live for winter sports.

Thanks for the mention! We really appreciate it!

    • Travis says:

You being from MN sounds familiar, Greg….have we talked about this before? Where in MN are you from? Loved the article, keep that great content coming!

      • You know what, we may have talked about this before:) I grew up in a small town southwest of Alexandria. Are you in the cities?

        • Travis says:

I know exactly where Alexandria is….my grandparents had a camper on a lake near there when I was younger. I live in Rochester currently, but originated from the New Ulm area, and actually moved and went to High School in Luverne (south west corner). I’ve been connecting with MN people left and right over the last few months – good to make those connections!

We basically haven’t had a winter. I want to go snowboarding so badly. We keep doing the snowdance, it’s just not working. It’s Colorado for goodness sake! I guess I’ll just put on the light jacket, sit in the sunshine, read a book, and wait for the snow to come. Maybe, I’ll ride my bike instead? Choices, choices!

    • Travis says:

Colorado hasn’t has much snow either? That DOES seem VERY out of the ordinary. It’s great to have options, though right? I’d LOVE to slap on my rollerblades at this point too!

  7. Well, I don’t usually get much of a winter, so it doesn’t bother me. Thanks for the mention Travis.

    • Travis says:

I start to get sick of winter about February…..but November – January I’m all for huge snowstorms, sledding, and snowball fights. 🙂 Great to hear from you Grayson – hope you’re aiming to have a great week!

I like the idea of celebrating Valentines day a day later. I am making hearts to send to family, but I need cards and a few other things, maybe I can wait a day or so and it will get there late. It wll probably be late anyway the way the USPO works! 😉 I say that lovingly because I am a big fan of the USPS.

    • Travis says:

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea! I’ve also seen several of my friends (via facebook) get their significant others Flowers *early* to beat the price hike. That doesn’t help them save on the other stuff, but I guess if you’re aiming to surprise someone better early than late, right! Thanks for stopping by debtgirl!
