My post from Monday participated in the Financial Literacy Awareness Carnival hosted over at The Heavy Purse. If that wasn’t awesome in it’s own right, the post then got picked up over at Rockstar Financials. Lifehacker is known to pull great content from Rockstar, so my mind was completely blown when my article got picked up and referenced at Lifehacker as well! Super, duper cool.
On a completely unrelated subject, I told my son that he could keep his first two paychecks from his first part-time job to do with whatever he pleased. After that we’ll talk about paying for his own gas, saving, etc. He’s had his eye on upgrading his computer for quite awhile, and he finally pulled the trigger. The new parts have been rolling in, and this weekend we’re going to assemble his new computer. I’m buying his old parts, so I’ll get to play with those as well. For a technology nerd like myself, this is going to be a very fun project.
Lots to fist pump here at EOD this week, let’s keep it going for my favorite posts of the week!

My five-year-old was talking about getting a part-time job as a babysitter this morning. HA! It will be fun when she starts earning her own money, but I’m not quite ready for it!
Have a nice weekend!
It is fun to watch him work hard, and then enjoy the results of his labor. It’s also fun to watch him wish for things, and then come up with a plan to get them. He’s learning a lot of new money management, life building skills!
Ah the computer rebuild project, we have done our fair share of those. Good luck! Enjoy the weekend!
This is my first completely build….I’ve replace some parts, but never done a full build before. it was SO FUN! Thanks for stopping by, Brian!
OMG you’re hobby would be my worst nightmare! lol! I wish you lived closer so I knew who to call when my computer is acting up. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend Travis! And enjoy your ‘Puter hobby!
LOL, Tonya – there’s nothing really hard about it…it’s just a skill to learn just like a lot of things. Some people can fix cars, some can edit video (like your talented self), some build computers. Once you learn the skill, you wonder why you ever paid others to do it!
Congrats on the post getting picked up! I love when one site picks up a post, only to have another follow suit!
It’s like a domino effect……and it rocks! Thanks for reading, Jon!
