Taxes, Incentives, and Less Government

Hijacking Incentive Since 1913 I was reminded today of how much I hate taxes so I thought I would come here to cry about it. 馃檪 My wife had to meet with Human Resources this morning for her new job and they informed her that the $2,000 bonus she is to receive will get hit by taxes to the tune of 38%. WHAT!!! Out of $2,000 we are only going to see $1240? (Counting to 10 to gain composure.) …8, 9, 10. (Deep Breath) You mean to tell me that the Government needs to misuse and blow $760 just because […] Read more 禄

Ebay Experiment: Taking Ebay To The Next Level

Well folks, I am ready to take Ebay to the next level. We have had very good success using the methods outlined in Selling On Ebay Is As Easy As 1-2-3, but it’s time to expand our efforts. The main reason for this is because my wife starts her new job as an R.N. at the end of the month. We have been very happy not having to use a day care provider up to this point and we intend to continue this. My wife is going to have a pretty erratic schedule in the beginning, so we are being […] Read more 禄

The Budget Puzzle

Is your puzzle missing a few pieces? Your budget is just like putting together a puzzle. Every piece is important because without all the pieces it will never be complete. If your budget is not a completed plan for how to spend your money, it is not a plan at all. There are many things that have to be considered for a budget to work. The death of a budget is when we feel the budget has failed and we give up. It’s true the budget did fail, but we need to understand that it only failed because we failed […] Read more 禄

Is It Really EASY Money?

Do people really think this is “EASY” money? Can you say OXYMORON? Good because money isn’t easy, and there is certainly nothing easy about paying more than 500% annually for a loan that will most likely amplify the problem instead of fix it. Have you ever considered getting a Payday loan? Every day many people find themselves in a position where they feel that a Payday loan is the only answer. I have been very lucky in this regard and have never followed through with one. I did consider one when I was younger but I caved at the end […] Read more 禄

The Perfect Day

Everyone that has kept up with my blog so far, knows that I am big on personal responsibility and setting goals. I love goals! I understand how to set goals but I am not always the best at writing them down. Brian Tracy is my favorite person to listen to when it comes to setting goals. He says, “People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.” For this to work, you obviously have to stick to the plan. For me, the budget has been the best example […] Read more 禄

Memorial Day Tribute

Without those BRAVE men and women that sacrificed and paid the ultimate price, we would not be free to have what we have. Becoming debt free wouldn’t matter much without the freedom we have been given. We should all reflect on what kind of person it takes to fill those shoes, as most of us have no idea what sacrifice of this magnitude feels like. The families who have lost loved ones, my heart is with you! THANK YOU! GOD BLESS AMERICA! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!   Read more 禄

Vacation Time is Here!

Vacation time is here, and I am glad! No we’re not going on an elegant cruise but to us, it is just as nice. We are off from work and we have plans to enjoy ourselves for a little over a week, but we are not racking up a huge bill. We are keeping it simple and inexpensive. Needless to say I will not be posting any blogs this week. My next blog post will be next Tuesday. I want to hear from you! Now is the time for you to be thinking about any questions you may have or […] Read more 禄

What If You Were Recession Proof?

Are we experiencing a recession? That seems to be the question of the year. If you watch the news, you are probably convinced that you should just give up. Don’t start digging that bunker just yet. The truth is that the U.S. is merely growing at a slower rate. From January to March the economy grew at the same rate of 0.6 percent, as the last quarter of 2007. Slow, but still growing. A recession is defined as a period of economic decline; specifically, a decline in GDP, for two or more consecutive quarters. Maybe we should wait until we […] Read more 禄

Poverty To Prosperity

This is an age old problem that seems to never go away. How do you end poverty completely and is it even possible? I believe that there is an answer to this question, and believe it or not, the Government is not it. The answer is YOU! The way you think, the way you learn, and the actions you take all determine where you end up. If you can work, then you can change your future. I always remember the true story, made into a movie, where Will Smith plays a homeless man that constantly faces challenges and disappointments in […] Read more 禄

Sometimes Money ISN’T The Cause Of “Money Fights”!

I thought that this picture was appropriate for my current situation. Recently my wife and I have realized that there are some things we disagree on. Disagreement is normal but a lack of communication can cause a disagreement to become a serious issue. The doors of communication must be open at all times, not just when you are in an argument. It is then that the one time reasonable objection becomes more of an attack move. It is very important to understand that if you disagree with your spouse about something, it is ALWAYS better to voice your opinion. Remember […] Read more 禄
