I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 1/25

The family and I are on our mid-winter getaway with 4 other families at the Kalahari Hotel in Wisconsin Dells.  They have an indoor water park that includes this kneeboard ride that is a TON of fun.  If you’ve never seen one of these before, streams of water are shot up an incline giving you the ability to kneeboard, and have it seem like you’re on an actual wave.  It’s super fun and I was pumped to do it again.    Unfortunately, during our first day at the water park I found out the hard way that my new swim trunks […] Read more »

I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 1/18

I saw a video this week about how the people in L.A. are freaking out about the “arctic blast” bringing their high temps for the day into the mid 50’s.  Brrrrr. People out in Kentucky had to deal with a few minutes of sleet.   Just as a comparison, the most recent forecast projects a high temperature for Monday in Rochester, MN at -1. It’s all relative, I guess.  If I had to deal with California earthquakes, or the summertime heat and humidity of Kentucky, I’d probably just curl up in the fetal position in a corner and sulk. Stay […] Read more »

I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 1/11

It’s almost 40 this week in Minnesota, and the snow is melting.  The weatherman tells me that big changes are in store for next week when some really cold air is supposed to make it’s way into the area.   I hope we get some snow soon, as the sledding hill in the park behind my house is no longer usable. It’s been a very busy week for writing blog posts, but I still managed to do a fair amount of reading as well.  As always, check out my favorites of the week below:   Favorite Posts: Debt-Free and Afraid of […] Read more »

I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 1/4

Happy New Year!  I had to say it, since this is my first opportunity to love anyone like a blogger in 2013.   There’s snow on the ground, and my family and I did some sledding over the last few weeks.  Soon the novelty of Winter will wear off, and we’ll be looking  forward to warmer weather.  The good news is we’ve passed the Winter Solstice and the days are again getting longer.  It’s practically Spring, right?  They say people in the Midwest live longer because we’re always optimistic and looking forward to the next season.  Always having something to look […] Read more »

I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 12/21

We had a blizzard in Southeastern Minnesota this week but it didn’t seem as bad as they said it was going to be.   We did get about 7 inches of snow so at least we’ll have a white Christmas!   It is still pretty cold and windy outside, so I think most of my weekend will be spent indoors.  If you’re in the same boat, here’s some awesome reading to keep you occupied! Confession time:  Vonnie and I haven’t even started our Christmas Shopping.  That’s right, not a single gift has been purchased.  The good news is, the kids have made their lists, and we have the cash – we just have to go get them.  Anyone want to take a guess at what we’ll be doing this weekend? I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 12/07

We’re a week into December and it’s officially the holiday season.  Vonnie and I are hosting a family get together tomorrow for her side of the family which should prove to be a great time.  I hate to admit this, but I really wish it would snow.  Look, I’m as big of a summertime, warm weather fan as they come but if it’s going to be colder I’d rather there be snow on the ground instead of everything be all brown and dreary.  Even my daughter agrees.  Last night she said, “We’ll probably have another dirt Christmas.”  She does have […] Read more »

I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 11/30

Thanksgiving is in the rear view mirror, and my family now turns it’s attention to Christmas.    Last weekend the fall decorations came down, this weekend the Christmas decorations go up.  This decorating extravaganza will include putting up the Pizel family Christmas tree followed by the traditional viewing of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  Oh, and the weather is going to be abnormally warm for this time of year in Minnesota as highs will flirt with 60. Weird. What’s not weird is the list of my favorite posts below.  Check ’em out, and give ’em some love.  Tell them I sent you […] Read more »

I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 11/1

Ooooooooh, no!  I think I’m fighting something off.  I’ve been going to bed early all week and getting some extra sleep but I just don’t have the usual spring in my step.  In fact last night I grabbed a pillow and blanket and curled up in a ball on the floor while the family caught up on a few episodes of Survivor.  I have still managed to drag myself out of bed every morning and get my workouts in.  I hate being sick, so I hope a weekend of R&R will get be back 100% in action. I Love You Like a Blogger Roundup – 10/26

The picture is an actual radar image of the upper Midwest from yesterday morning.  It had been unseasonably warm here in Minnesota earlier this week with highs in the mid-70s.  Yesterday a cold front moved through and you could literally see and feel the seasons change.  The green is rain, the purple is ice, sleet, and snow.   The seasons may be changing, but one thing that is not changing is the fact that you can find links to the very best personal finance blog posts of the week right here on Enemy of  Debt each and every Friday.  Let’s get […] Read more »
