Frugal Fun: Geocaching

My family started a new hobby this weekend and we are totally hooked! Geocaching.  It’s completely free and a total blast.  If you’ve never heard of geocaching it’s a world-wide treasure hunt. You can sign up for free at geocaching.com and there are lists and lists of hidden caches. (The caches are the treasures.) You can search by zip code to find ones near you. Each treasure has coordinates that you can plug into your GPS that will bring you within feet of the cache. Then you have to use your noggin. So far I’ve found three. They were an […] Read more »

What is in the air this holiday season? I am feeling especially festive right now so I decided to break the news in a little song. haha! Maybe I had way too much fun coming up with ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas! Then again, I could have had too much eggnog, but who cares. The important thing is that I’m sharing it with you. 😉 I was recently asked to be a part of something I couldn’t say no to. Actually it was more like I injured myself just trying to respond. Okay, I didn’t really injure myself but I […] Read more »

Photo Credit: Memory_Freak Jeff is one of my favorite bloggers. I love his passion and desire to get his family out of debt, even if it means he has to sacrifice himself in the process. Enemy of Debt the Super Hero?

PURE AWESOMENESS! Yesterday, Enemy of Debt was introduced to the comic strip world for the first time! Back in February, I sent the creator of the Personal Finance comics an email, suggesting an Enemy of Debt character. Every comic has a villain and since he writes for a credit card site, I thought Enemy of Debt would play the part nicely. He liked the idea, and even took it one step further by asking me to write up a storyline. Having never written anything like that before I was a bit nervous, but I jumped right on it. I submitted […] Read more »

Are You Smarter Than The United States Government?

Today I decided to present you with my version of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader with an EOD twist of course. What I want to know though, is Are You Smarter Than The United States Government? On the regular…I hear average people complain about the current state of our economy. I hear average people complain about Government spending and how wasteful and inefficient it is. I hear average people complain about the rising U.S. debt, which is now over 12 trillion dollars. I hear average people complain about the U.S. budget which seems to be compiled of massive […] Read more »

Happy Birthday To Me

I was born on February 8th 1975, and today I am 35 years young. Being 34 wasn’t bad at all, in fact as the years pass me by, they seem to get better and more fulfilling. Some people have a problem with getting older, but not me. I welcome the added wisdom, knowledge, and experience of the previous year, and am ready to move on to bigger and better things. Age is nothing more than a number. Live life, love life, and enjoy it while you can—become DEBT FREE! In 1975: Gerald R. Ford was President – President Ford escaped […] Read more »

The 50 Plates In 50 States Project

Hello my awesome EOD readers! I am very excited to announce something that I have been thinking about for some time now. It’s called “The 50 Plates In 50 States Project”. Basically, I think it would be SUPER COOL if someone in every state declared their hatred for debt the way that I have. As some of you know, I have already done this myself. So what I envision is for 49 of you, one from each state with the exception of Virginia, to eventually get a personalized plate that reads: Once you have done this, be sure to email […] Read more »

Happy Thanksgiving To You All!

I was over at Man Vs. Debt this morning, and I enjoyed watching his video post about the three things him and his wife were thankful for this year. He asked his readers to share three things they are thankful for, and my reasons, listed below, are just three of the many things I am thankful for this year. It was a wonderful year for us! 1.) I am thankful for the healthy birth of our new little man Noah. He has been a blessing and so much fun to be around. 2.) I am obviously thankful for the fact […] Read more »

One Good Turn Deserves Another

I have been blogging for over a year now but I can honestly say that I really didn’t know blogging until I met J Money over at Budgets Are Sexy.  He is the first person I met blogging that I became friends with.  I admire his frugality and extreme dedication to saving and investing.  He is not even 30, yet he has more savings than the average person in their 50’s. We communicate back and forth quite frequently and have much respect for each other.  We have even been known to duke it out, in a friendly fun kind of […] Read more »
