Bad Economy=Record Sales?

Bad Economy Should Equal More savings! Bad economy and record sales do not seem to go together, unless of course you are a credit card company.  As most of you know I deliver pizza for Papa John’s Pizza.  I have been there for just over 3 years and during this time my boss has been trying to reach a store record of one million dollars in sales for the year.  Even when the economy was booming he came close but never reached the goal. Here we are in what some refer to as the worst economic crisis since the early […] Read more »

Where Have I Been?

Hi everyone! You may have noticed that the activity on EOD has been very minimal.  This will change I promise.  I have been busy doing preliminary training for the half-marathon I plan to run in April.  Boy do I have some work to do.  Out of shape is the understatement of the year.  I am also not happy with my set up here and have had trouble learning how to change the things that bug me. On top of that I am trying as hard as I can to become super gazelle so we can knock out the rest of […] Read more »

Less Than $7,000 Till We Are Debt Free

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I am so thankful for everything the Lord has given me and my family.  I am thankful for His direction when times got hard.  I am thankful I was shown my purpose to help others become debt free and experience financial peace for themselves. I am very thankful for Dave Ramsey and what he does.  It is because of his plan that we only have less than $7,000 until we are debt free but the house. Thank you Mr. Ramsey, we’ll be calling you soon! I am so very thankful for the wife I […] Read more »

Dave Ramsey for President 2008

President Ramsey? No, Dave Ramsey isn’t running for President, but if he was, I would probably vote for him.  He has expressed his opinion and has made it clear he does not want the job.  Personally, I do not blame him, but boy would it be nice to have a Government with a ZERO-BASED BUDGET?  It would be nice to have someone who knows how to cut expenses and knows the difference between a want and a need.  Someone who knows all to well how it feels to hit rock bottom, and someone who knows how to bounce back by […] Read more »

Invest Your Dollars Wisely Without Fear

Are You A Nervous Wreck? No matter where you go it is impossible to avoid the dreadful banter regarding the economy. The television is loaded with reasons to be fearful of your life coming to an end, because of the falling market. It's no secret that one reason for this is due to the upcoming election. After all, both sides have only a little time left to convince you that they are the one that is going to make everything all better. (Just lay back, dry your thumb, and prepare to be coddled. Oh, and here is your free Government pacifier!) Read more »

Giving Advice: Is It A Good Or Bad Idea?

Not too long ago I posted a blog about debt consolidation and the dangers of it. I went on MyTMMO forums to try and get people to share their thoughts on my blog about debt consolidation. Since those forums were private I mentioned that someone close to me was considering using debt consolidation themselves. I got blasted from all angles with people telling me that I should keep my nose out of others business. I later posted a poll on those same forums asking people what they would do, to try and see if there were differing opinions. So far […] Read more »

Are You Waiting For Washington To Save The Day?

As it stands now this is not a political blog, and I want to keep it that way.  However, with the upcoming election, coupled with recent events (bailout, mortgage crisis) and the state of our economy, I feel it is important to address this issue.  It seems that so many people are putting all of their faith into electing a President that they feel will fly down from the sky with his Presidential cape and leotards to save the day.  Why is that?  Do people really believe that Washington is going to come to the rescue? Do you really […] Read more »

Experiencing Technical Problems

I am having some problems with my theme again.  Instead of leave the site down, I wanted everyone to still have access to EOD content.  I apologize for the ‘ugliness’!  I will try and get things back to normal as soon as I can.  Please enjoy my archives. UPDATE:  EOD is fixed, all except for the nav bar.  I am working on it. Brad Chaffee Person Brad Chaffee Right click for SmartMenu shortcuts Read more »

Murphy’s Fall

Murphy’s Fall? I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to something that you have or will possibly go through.  I have coined the term “Murphy’s Fall”.  Murphy’s Fall isn’t the fall of Murphy.  Instead it is something you yourself go through because of Murphy.  That’s right.  It’s what can happen when Murphy has moved in and just doesn’t want to leave.  It could be equivalent to what marathoners call “The Wall”, which is when a marathoner reaches the 20 mile mark and starts to rationalize giving up.  It’s when you start to tell yourself that you have […] Read more »

How Can We Love Our Children More?

That’s How! Our Children Really Are The Future If you have children I can not think of anything as important as teaching them how to manage money at a very early age.  Think about it for a second.  If you would have learned about money at a young age you could have avoided so many of the financial pitfalls that most of us deal with.  I know I would have loved to learn this stuff early on.  It would have kept me from paying extensive amounts of “Stupid Tax”, as Dave Ramsey calls it.  Stupid Tax is money that we […] Read more »

When Are You Going To Have A Yard Sale?

Today was the big day! We had a huge yard sale today, and we made an extra $220.  This was with NO big dollar items.  We had tons of stuff to get rid of and I am not even convinced that we got rid of everything possible.  I am pretty excited about our extra earnings from stuff that has been just hanging around our house. Could you benefit from an extra few hundred dollars? I am sure you could, so start looking around and plan that yard sale.  Fund that Emergency Fund or earn extra money to throw at your […] Read more »

To Be Bullied Or Not Be Bullied, That Is The Question

I think that dealing with creditors is probably one of the most emotional experiences one can have at a time when they are likely the most vulnerable.  Think about it.  When you owe someone money and they are constantly hounding you to pay what you already know you owe, it can break anyone down who does not know how to handle them.  Usually what happens is they use tactics to bully you into using your grocery money to pay them NOW!  Credit Sharks In Suits (FPU Lesson) is great for helping you learn how to deal with these sharks, as […] Read more »
