Million Dollar Club

I decided to join J. Money’s Million Dollar Club.  Setting goals is the way to put your plans into motion.  Brian Tracy says that a goal not written down typed out, is just a dream because it has no energy.  You are definitely more likely to accomplish your goals if you put them down on paper.  It gives you something to follow and each time you scratch an accomplishment off of the list, you gain motivation.  Hmmm, that sounds familiar right?  Your Total Money Makeover is the same kind of plan.  You do each baby step, one step at a […] Read more »

One Good Turn Deserves Another

I have been blogging for over a year now but I can honestly say that I really didn’t know blogging until I met J Money over at Budgets Are Sexy.  He is the first person I met blogging that I became friends with.  I admire his frugality and extreme dedication to saving and investing.  He is not even 30, yet he has more savings than the average person in their 50’s. We communicate back and forth quite frequently and have much respect for each other.  We have even been known to duke it out, in a friendly fun kind of […] Read more »

EOD Interviewed By Mr Credit Card On Blog Talk Radio

Mr Credit Card, from askmrcreditcard.com interviewed me yesterday!  I was slightly nervous as it was the first time I had ever done that kind of thing live.  After listening to it, I feel it went well and I hope that you enjoy it as well. Just so you know, the first 35 seconds is silent.  (I called 3 times before we were actually connected, and each time I thought I was on hold waiting to go live, but each time heard the computerized voice  say “thanks for calling blog talk radio….goodbye!”  At the end you’ll also hear me talking to […] Read more »

He’s Going To Be An Enemy Of Debt Too!

IT’S A BOY!!! Yep, that’s right!  Another Enemy of Debt will be born in October, and on Monday, was confirmed to be a boy!  I cannot wait until October gets here!  I still remember the overwhelming emotional impact I felt when my daughter was born 13 years ago.  It was amazing and something I can never forgot.  When my son was born 3 years ago this July, the same feeling was just as strong.  Some may think that the feeling is slightly less because you have been through it once before, and maybe that is true for some people, but […] Read more »

Is It A Boy Or A Girl?

That Is The Question! I have not announced this here on EOD yet, but thought that today would be the best time to do so.  Alana and I are having another baby, due to arrive on October 26th to be exact.  I am very excited about this and today we find out whether we are having a boy or a girl.  I LOVE BEING A DAD, it is the best gift EVER!   What Do I Hope We Are Having?  Honestly it really doesn’t matter to me.  Either way I will be excited just the same.  I do hope that my […] Read more »

Getting Behind On Stuff

I was really hoping to be able to write a blog today.  Normally, or at least since my 5 minutes of blogging fame, I would have already written my articles for up to two days in advance.  However, other things have been keeping my busy.  Last week we had family in from Florida, last night we went to a wedding, and today I was busy fighting weeds in my back yard with a weed eater, as well as finishing the installation of our floor upstairs.  We are in the process of remodeling our house and getting rid of stuff that […] Read more »

One Year Anniversary!!

Hey Everyone! On April 5th, 2008, I was inspired to start my very first blog ever!  The mission was simple.  Spread the word about living debt free!!  Three months earlier we started our Total Money Makeover and discovered through the process, a little thing called HOPE!  It was such an invigorating experience as we watched our habits and financial situation transform before our eyes. Around the same time I started the online version of Financial Peace University and a passion started pouring out of me like never before.  I finished watching every lesson and passed every test within about two […] Read more »

Townhall For Hope – FREE LIVE EVENT Coming Soon!

Would The Real Person Responsible Please Stand Up! Not a day goes by where I do not hear at least one person, but usually more, complain about something that they don’t have.  Whether it be health care and retirement, the lack of one stinking dollar in their savings account, or the ability to juggle a loftier than thou mortgage that is no longer affordable.  It is no wonder people are running around scared to death.  The truth is I feel a little scared too!  BUT…our Total Money Makeover has relieved some of that fear, and hope has renewed our spirits.  […] Read more »

Our Debt Is In Danger!

Watch us become debt free right here! DEBT EVERYWHERE is on the run! I posted a debt free progress chart about 3 months ago.  Here is the current updated chart.  When the green fills up the word “DEBT FREE“, not only will we be free, but so will our green.  FREE to save, give, and invest without restraint.  Last week we were able to pay down our remaining student loan debt by $3500.  That was a huge win for us, and motivated us even more to knock the last little bit out.  $4649 is in the sights, and has […] Read more »

Where Have I Been?

Hi everyone! You may have noticed that the activity on EOD has been very minimal.  This will change I promise.  I have been busy doing preliminary training for the half-marathon I plan to run in April.  Boy do I have some work to do.  Out of shape is the understatement of the year.  I am also not happy with my set up here and have had trouble learning how to change the things that bug me. On top of that I am trying as hard as I can to become super gazelle so we can knock out the rest of […] Read more »

Less Than $7,000 Till We Are Debt Free

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I am so thankful for everything the Lord has given me and my family.  I am thankful for His direction when times got hard.  I am thankful I was shown my purpose to help others become debt free and experience financial peace for themselves. I am very thankful for Dave Ramsey and what he does.  It is because of his plan that we only have less than $7,000 until we are debt free but the house. Thank you Mr. Ramsey, we’ll be calling you soon! I am so very thankful for the wife I […] Read more »

A Comment Response

BALANCE is important! I decided to write this blog because I received a comment yesterday about my lack of writing recently. The comment said “I miss the times when you used to write. not just paste up you tube video. :(” (ONE of those youtube videos I made myself!) I agree with the poster about what is better my opinion or video from another source, but I feel I must explain why it just isn’t possible for me to ALWAYS write as I did in the beginning of this blog. If I have learned anything from Dave Ramsey, Dan Miller, […] Read more »

Exciting Ebay News! Big Payoff With Little Expense

Well to update everyone on our Ebay plans, we have not done much on the auction sites yet. The reason being is that I want to research as much as possible before we get started. I am still looking into the legitimacy of the sites I found as well as practicality. I will be sure to inform you of any updates as they become available. This machine cleans floors without you doing a thing! What’s New? Todays news is exciting because it just happened to fall in our lap. My wife was out one day doing her Goodwill rounds and […] Read more »

Ebay Experiment: Taking Ebay To The Next Level

Well folks, I am ready to take Ebay to the next level. We have had very good success using the methods outlined in Selling On Ebay Is As Easy As 1-2-3, but it’s time to expand our efforts. The main reason for this is because my wife starts her new job as an R.N. at the end of the month. We have been very happy not having to use a day care provider up to this point and we intend to continue this. My wife is going to have a pretty erratic schedule in the beginning, so we are being […] Read more »
